Safaricom launches Daima for customers who want to keep their dormant lines active
Safaricom has introduced Daima, a service that will enable customers to keep their dormant lines in service even when they haven’t been in use for a long period.
The new service will cost SIM card holders Ksh. 200 for six months, KSh. 500 for a year and Ksh. 1000 if you want to preserve your line for two years without topping up or activating it.
The innovative service can be accessed by dialling *100*4# and then choosing ‘Daima.’ Each option will provide 20 minutes of calling time and 20 SMS across all networks every month.
Daima is a timely response to concerns by customers who travel abroad for long periods, or those whose lines aren’t in service for long due to other reasons. Customers can thus keep multiple lines for various services.
The law allows service providers to reissue customer lines that have been inactive for 90 consecutive days.
Peter Ndegwa, CEO – Safaricom PLC.said, “We are yet again innovating around our customers’ needs by introducing solutions such as Daima that are modelled around the lifestyles of our customers. The Daima service empowers customers such as those working abroad, those in learning institutions, those going away for extended periods, or those with multiple lines to keep their lines active and remain affordably connected for an extended period of between 6 and 24 months without the need to frequently top up,”
