Huawei officially unveiled the Huawei Y7p in the Kenyan market selling at Ksh.18,499. The phone comes with a 6.39-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720×1560 pixels.
The Huawei Y7p is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F processor and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It runs Android 9 Pie and is powered by a 4000mAh battery.
For the cameras, the Huawei Y7p features a triple camera set-up on the rear which include a 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture; a second 8-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture and a third 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The selfie camera, on the other hand, is an 8-megapixel, with an f/2.0 aperture.
Remember the Huawei Y7p as we have mentioned in all our previous articles doesn’t ship with Google Mobile Services, Google’s app suite which includes apps like YouTube, Gmail, Photos, Chrome, Google Play Store, and more. This does not, however, mean the devices can not be used, there are so many other alternatives ways you can use to download all your favourite apps. We will not go into much details but you can read more about that below.

In this article, we will be focusing on the camera, which is one of the key selling points of this phone.
Huawei Y7p Camera Review
The Huawei Y7p camera setup is good for general use. Well, most of the shots I took are mostly indoors, of course, due to the current coronavirus pandemic that limiting our movement and forcing us to stay at home. I also managed to take some outdoor shots though but from around my home.
The images look decent, with some good amount of details and sharpness. The colours are also pretty good with good lighting.
The camera has different modes: Night Mode which takes some pretty good shots, HDR night mode, portrait, light painting, AI among others. The modes can be activated once you open the camera app on your Huawei Y7p.

Well, the selfies produced by the Huawei Y7p have some little amount of noise as you can see from the sample shots below. They sharpness might not be the best but well, they’re not bad either so you can use them on social media or any other platform you use to upload your favourite photos.
Other test shots
I need to also mention that the Huawei Y7p camera app also has an aperture setting that allows you to manually adjust the aperture. For videos, the device allows you to shoot up to 1080p at 30fps. The focus is not really that good especially if you’re shooting while holding the device with your hands. We recommend you get a tripod like the once we use for stabilization.
