After announcing the Huawei P30 Lite New Edition back in July, Huawei has started selling the device locally. The major upgrade in the New edition is all in the camera hardware. As you already know the original Huawei P30 Lite had a triple camera setup on the rear with a 24MP primary sensor on the frontline.
Now the New edition packs a new primary camera with 2x more resolution – 48MP. The Ultra Wide Angle Lens has been retained at 8MP, and the Bokeh Lens is also still a 2MP sensor. On the front, the selfie camera now sports a 24MP sensor instead of a 32MP one in the original P30 Lite.
“..the latest HUAWEI P30 lite New Edition smartphone is equipped with three rear cameras with support for ultra-wide angle photography and artificial intelligence (AI) features. Making high-quality photography accessible, it enables young photography enthusiasts to capture poster-quality images on a smartphone.” Steven Li, Country President Huawei Mobile Kenya said.
Memory wise, the new edition features 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage. Under the hood, you will still find Huawei’s Octa-core Kirin 710 AI chipset – Octa-core, 4×2.2GHz+4×1.7GHz paired with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU.

The device is already selling on Jumia Mall and other offline shops at a price of Ksh Ksh. 28,499 for 6GB/128GB memory. The device was announced in three different colors; Midnight Black, pearl white, Peacock Blue but it seems that only Midnight Black color is currently available.
