Facebook’s Dating Service Expands to 33 More Countries

Facebook Dating is now available in Europe. The social media giant’s dating service has been to date only available in 20 countries. With the 33 additional territories, Facebook Dating is now available in over 50 countries globally.

“Today, we’re launching Facebook Dating in Europe to help more people find meaningful relationships through things they have in common, like interests, events and groups,” the company said in a statement.

The company boasts of making over 1.5 billion matches in the 20 countries where the service has been available since last year. Facebook first launched Facebook Dating in September 2019, starting with the United States.

Some key Facebook Dating Service features include the now must-have stories functionality, even LinkedIn has it, events and groups, virtual dates, and secret crush. The latter lets you explore if there’s some potential with people you already know on Facebook and/or Instagram.

Intrinsically Facebook doesn’t suggest your current Facebook friends or Instagram buddies as potential matches. So if you need to explore potential with your friends, the secret feature comes in handy.

Facebook Dating is an opt-in service inside the Facebook app. For privacy, your Facebook friends won’t be notified that you’ve joined Facebook Dating, according to the company.

Starting today, Facebook Dating is now available in 33 additional countries. Some of these include Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, the UK, Spain and more.

Previously, the service was only available in 20 countries, including the US, Mexico, Singapore, Canada and others.
