Tecno Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 plus to be available in Kenya from 7th October
Tecno Mobile finally unveiled the Tecno Phantom 6 and Phantom 6 plus, its latest addition to the Phantom series. The launch was done at a colorful event held at Armani Hotel located in Burj Khalifa, Dubai.
We had previously shared a number of articles about these two devices from the moment Tecno Mobile started sending out teasers about them. The latest additions to TECNO Phantom series, Phantom 6 and 6 plus boast a number of high-end upgrades compared to successful predecessors Phantom Z and Phantom 5 launched in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
“The Tecno Phantom 6 gives mobile consumers better stability, speed and probably the best camera experience on the mobile phone,” says Attai Oguche, Tecno deputy marketing lead, Nigeria.
The Phantom 6 wears an ultra slim design with premium chamfered edges and spots the Tecno brand’s first dual rear camera technology – a high definition combination of 13 megapixel and 5-megapixel autofocus cameras with LED flash, probably the slimmest smartphone with dual rear cameras. The device is powered by a 3GB RAM with 32GB ROM leg room, expandable to 128GB. Tecno Phantom 6 also enjoys improved processor speed at 2.0GHz, MediaTek’s Helio P10 chipset.
The Phantom 6 plus, on the other hand, comes with a big screen size of 6.0 inches IPS touch display hosting the mobile brand’s first tri-fold security combination which includes fingerprint, eye scanner, and TrustLook antivirus. It is powered by 4GB RAM , 64GB internal storage, and boasts of the latest MediaTek Helio X20 Deca-core chipset. It also comes loaded with a 4050mAh battery.
Mobile consumers in Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt and other top mobile markets in emerging economies have not seen anything like the Phantom 6 plus. This smartphone took three years in the making and the global expertise of over five hundred engineers to deliver right on schedule,” says Tecno global marketing lead, Vane Ni.
According to the company the Tecno Phantom 6 plus is targeted particularly at the Middle East consumers where the device was launched.
The two devices will be launched in Kenya on 7th October at I & M Safaricom shop. This will be the first time the Phantom series will be available in the country and in Safaricom shops at a suggested price of between Ksh. 25,000 and Kshs.35,000 for the two devices.
