LinkedIn taps into video, introduces Q&A videos from influencers
LinkedIn just added a new feature to its platform since it was acquired by Microsoft back in June. The professional social network just added short videos to your feeds, featuring influencers you follow.
The 30-seconds videos will allow influencers on the platform to share their thoughts on trending professional topics and news, ranging from diversity and workplace, culture, to education and innovation. The company has already invited more than 500 influencers to do this using the invite-only iPhone app.
‘’When an Influencer you follow posts a video, that video will appear directly in your feed. From there, you can dive in to see what other Influencers have to say about that topic, weigh in with a comment, and respond to comments from other members.’’ The company said in a blog post.
Speaking to TechCrunch, Product manager Jasper Sherman-Presser said the feature will eventually open up to more users at some point in the future. Anyone can, however, follow an influencer at any time to engage with their content, either from their profile, the feed, or their video.
This is indeed a good move for LinkedIn given that about every social platform has already embraced video.
