M-TIBA Parent CarePay Group Announces Leadership Changes


CarePay Group, the parent company of the pioneering health-tech platform M-TIBA, has announced a strategic leadership transition. Moses G. Kuria has been appointed as the Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CarePay International and M-TIBA, effective immediately.

In a dual-leadership update, Irene Nafula has been named the Acting Managing Director of M-TIBA Kenya, taking the helm of the firm’s primary regional hub.

Moses Kuria is a veteran within the CarePay ecosystem, having spent 10 years with the company. His ascent to Acting CEO follows a successful stint as the Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has previously also served as Managing Director of M-TIBA, where he laid much of the groundwork for the platform’s current scale.

In his new role, Kuria assumes responsibility for the overall leadership of CarePay Group, with a core focus on strategic execution and the continued scaling of its health insurance technology platform across the continent.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Nairobi.

To ensure stability in the company’s flagship market, Irene Nafula moves from her role as Commercial Director to Acting Managing Director of M-TIBA Kenya. With over 15 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Nafula will now oversee the Kenyan business with direct responsibility for strategic partnerships, operational performance, and client delivery.

She brings more than fifteen years of healthcare sector experience to the role, spanning product development, operations, and delivery. She holds a Master of Science in Organisational Development from the United States International University, positioning her to lead M-TIBA’s enterprise growth and partner engagement efforts.

She holds an MSc in Organizational Development from United States International University (USIU).
