Nairobi’s iconic former Hilton Hotel building has been given a new lease on life with the official launch of Tulivu Co-Working Space. The launch signals a significant trend of hospitality-led flexible workspaces entering the city and reclaiming landmark properties.
The state-of-the-art facility, strategically located on Mama Ngina Street, was officially opened by Dr. Anastacia Nyalita, Nairobi’s County Executive Committee Member for Business and Hustler Opportunities.
The entry of Tulivu is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first major re-activation of the landmark building since the Nairobi Hilton ceased operations in December 2022, after 53 years in business. The building’s repurposing from a hotel into a modern workspace reflects a broader shift in the city’s commercial real estate landscape.
The launch comes as Nairobi experiences a surge in demand for flexible office solutions. This growth is driven by tech startups, entrepreneurs, and established companies adopting hybrid work models.
According to the company, the new space is designed with a focus on productivity, wellness, and accessibility. The facility includes fully furnished private offices, flexible coworking desks, soundproof boardrooms, a podcast and content creation studio, and a conference hall. It offers plans ranging from daily passes to private serviced offices and virtual office packages.
“Today marks a new chapter in the way Nairobi works,” said Blessed Muthoni, Centre Manager for Tulivu Co-Working. “We are offering more than just office space, Tulivu is a purpose-built environment that brings together functionality, design, and service to support the modern professional.”
Dr. Nyalita praised the initiative, linking it to the county’s economic goals. “Nairobi County is committed to fostering a business-friendly ecosystem,” she said. “The launch of Tulivu reflects the growing demand for innovative, adaptive workspaces that empower entrepreneurs and fuel our economic growth”
