The Kenyan smartphone market is bracing for a new contender in design and engineering as Tecno Mobile confirms the imminent launch of the Tecno Spark Slim.
Touting it as the “world’s slimmest smartphone with a 3D curved display,” the device measures an astonishing 5.93mm in thickness, aiming to redefine the sleek aesthetic in the mid-range market.
What was once a futuristic concept device showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) is now becoming a commercial reality for Kenyan consumers. The “Power in Slim” concept, which promised a radical profile without sacrificing battery life, appears to be at the core of the Spark Slim.
While the ultra-thin design is the main headline, the device does not skimp on power. Online specifications reveal the Spark Slim’s most impressive feat: packing a substantial 5160mAh battery with 45W fast charging into its razor-thin chassis. This directly addresses the primary consumer concern that slim phones often compromise on endurance.
The device is built around a vibrant 6.78-inch 3D curved AMOLED display that features a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution, and Gorilla Glass 7i for protection. Internally, it is expected to run on a MediaTek Helio G200 (6 nm) chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. On the back, a 50MP main camera system handles photography, with a 13MP sensor for selfies.
Adding a significant local and continental appeal, the Tecno Spark Slim is the official mobile phone for both the AFCON 2025 in Morocco and the AFCON 2027, which Kenya will co-host. Tecno has stated the phone will come with AFCON-related features, celebrating its deep integration with African football.
For those eager to get their hands on the device, pre-orders officially opened at Tecno Official Stores on November 3rd. Early customers who pre-order will receive a significant launch bundle, including a 20,000mAh power bank and Ksh 2,000 cash back upon collection.
The Tecno Spark Slim is expected to be available at retail establishments across Kenya soon, with pricing yet to be revealed.
