BNI Kenya is set to host an exclusive Financial Literacy Dinner on Friday, 7th November 2025, at the Movenpick Hotel in Nairobi, aiming to tackle significant gaps in personal wealth management among professionals in the country.
The event, themed “Money, Money Everywhere, and Nothing in the Pocket,” will also raise funds for the Kids2Kids program, a ministry dedicated to rehabilitating and educating street children.
The initiative responds to statistics highlighting a financial literacy gap in the country. According to the Standard & Poor’s Global Financial Literacy Survey, only 38 percent of Kenyan adults are considered financially literate. Data also suggests that over 60 percent of urban middle-income earners, despite high earning potential, have minimal or no savings.
“Many hardworking professionals know how to make money, but not necessarily how to manage or multiply it,” said Mr. Muraguri, BNI Kenya National Director. “Through this dinner, we want to inspire conversations about wealth, purpose, and stewardship, to help people not just earn more, but live and give with intention.”
Proceeds from the evening, which will include a silent auction, will directly support Kids2Kids. The ministry, operating under ACK Christ Church Westlands, rescues children from informal settlements such as Kangemi, Kibagare, and Kawangware. The program provides them with food, education, mentorship, and emotional support to help them reintegrate into formal education.
“Every contribution during this dinner will help feed, educate, and empower a child to start a new chapter in life,” Mr. Muraguri added. “Our goal is to transform not just individual lives, but entire generations.”
The event is expected to bring together over 150 guests, including business leaders, financial experts, and C-suite executives for an engaging panel discussion on financial well-being.
Business Network International (BNI) is a global business referral organization with over 300,000 members, built on the philosophy of “Givers Gain.”
