Car and General- Kenya has donated over 40 engines to twenty one technical training institutions from across Kenya. The engines were donated during the annual engine donation program held at Car & General headquarters on Lusaka Road.

The engine donation program which was initiated in 2003 is part of the company’s community engagement program as it recognises the need for proper education and training of technical students in the country, giving them the much needed experience.

The engine donation is expected to give over five hundred technical students from the twenty one training institutions the much needed knowledge of the field through a different perspective which is the views of the mechanical engineer, their trade secrets and many other on the job experiences that cannot be learnt in school.

According to Car and General Communications & Marketing Manager Raphael Atanda, the provision of engines to learning institutions is not the only training assistance that they provide. “We recognize and continue supporting the engineering industry by empowering the youth through such endeavors. We believe that this support will continue to give more students from these institutions the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their careers,” said Mr. Atanda.
