The ‘Undo Send’ allows a person using Gmail to cancel a sent mail if they have second thoughts immediately after sending.  The feature will hold your email for a brief period sufficient for you to evaluate your regrets.

The feature has actually been available since March of 2009, but it had been hidden away in the Labs section of Gmail’s settings until when it was made available to users.

‘’The feature is turned off by default for those not currently using the Labs version, and can be enabled from the General tab in Gmail settings’’ Google said on its Google App Updates blog.

Undo Send now is available in Gmail’s settings under the “General” tab.

To enable the lab:

  1. Click the gear in the top right .
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click the Labs
  4. Find the “Undo Send” lab and select the Enableradio button.
  5. Click Save Changesat the bottom of the page.

Select the amount of time you have to undo sending a message by clicking the gear icon , and finding the “Undo Send:” section in the General tab of your Settings.

It’s disabled by default, but it’s worth turning on if you haven’t already.
