Netflix is finally making the service affordable for its customers in Kenya and across Sub-Saharan Africa. The streaming giant has announced new price charges for the region that it says are taking effect immediately.
Netflix says the goal for these new price changes is to ensure its customers get value for their money.
What do the new changes look like? Well, the mobile plan will now cost KSh.200, down from Sh300, whereas the basic plan which was initially Ksh.700 will now cost Ksh. 300.
Standard plan subscribers will now pay Ksh.700, down from Ksh.1,100, while the premium plan will now cost you pay Ksh. 1,100, down from Ksh. 1,450.

New members who sign up will see the new price for the plans immediately. For existing members, Netflix says the update will roll out over the coming weeks from their next billing cycle.
Existing members will be notified by email, [as well as within the Netflix app 30 days before the new prices are applied to them (this is only for auto-upgrades)]. The exact timing will depend on the specific member’s billing cycle.
For the sub-Saharan Africa region, the Netflix mobile plan will cost $2.99 down from $3.99 whereas the basic plan will cost $3.99, down from $7.99. For the standard plan, subscribers will pay $7.99, down from $9.99 while for the premium plan, they will pay $9.99 down from $11.99.
