vivo Y22 with 5000mAh battery and 50MP Camera launched in Kenya for KES 19,999


vivo has announced the launch of its latest addition to its Y-series of devices, the vivo Y22 in Kenya. The midrange device will be available for purchase for KES 19,999 starting today in vivo shops across the country.

vivo says the Y22 is the latest camera phone that combines a modern design and a beautiful aesthetic to provide consumers with a thrilling experience.

“The Y22 is built on the strengths and successes of its popular sister phone, the outgoing Y21 remains a cool and beloved pick in the mid-range smartphone category. The phone has a competitive edge over similar phones in the category. Its beautiful design, sharp and clear photography, large display and powerful performance offer the consumer a complete entertainment experience” said vivo Kenya Brand and Communications Manager Mr. James Irungu.

The vivo Y22 comes with a 6.55-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 720×1612 pixels (HD+). It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage expandable to 1TB via a micro SD card.

The phone runs Android 12 and is powered by a 5000mAh battery.

For the optics, the vivo Y22 on the rear packs a dual camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) primary camera, and a 2-megapixel (f/2.4) camera. There’s a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring an 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.0 aperture.

The Vivo Y22 (2022) runs Funtouch OS 12 is based on Android 12.

The phone is a dual-SIM mobile that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM cards. It measures 164.30 x 76.00 x 8.38mm (height x width x thickness) and weighs 190.00 grams.

It will be available in Metaverse Green and Starlit Blue colours.
