Why the New LG RAC Dual Cool Inverter is not your ordinary Air Conditioner
Compared to many African countries, Kenya has a pleasant temperature. However, some parts of the country tend to be hotter than others influenced by several factors, including altitude.
To survive the heat, most people have turned to Air Conditioners (ACs) for cooling. According to UNEP’s United for Efficiency 2022 fact sheet, ACs are expected to increase sales rapidly at a compound annual growth rate of 7.1% per year for the 2020-2050 period, rising from around 160,000 units in 2020 to close to one million units per year by 2050. This is not only due to the high temperature but also due to rising demand across several sectors such as hospitality, commercial and retail, residential, and others.
While this is a good trajectory, Kenya like most African countries is flooded with outdated Air Conditioners that consume more energy and are expensive to maintain. In addition to driving up electricity costs, they drive up greenhouse gas emissions. UNEP’s fact sheets on electricity consumption patterns in urban households estimated that 51% of the total electricity consumption in the country (14%) is consumed by the residential sector and that the combined consumption for lighting and AC appliances comprises 50% of the electricity utilized. This makes it expensive to own and maintain Air conditioners, denying millions of Sudanese access to cooling units.
However, all is not lost. To help with saving costs on energy, and protect the environment, LG Electronics East Africa has introduced a modern Residential Air Conditioner in the Market, the LG Dual Cool Inverter Residential Air Conditioner built to reduce user energy consumption with more efficient cooling in the Sudan market.
A game changer from its built to performance here is why the New LG RAC Dual Cool Inverter is not your ordinary Air Conditioner.
First, the new LG Dual Cool Inverter RAC lineup is set to help Sudanese save upto fifty-five per cent on their annual energy consumption compared to other non-inverter products in the market consuming more energy and hence costly to have in the long-term.
“With the summer season in Sudan, temperatures rising upto 45˚C, there was a need to introduce an AC that cools faster and does not wear out quickly. We are happy to once again improve the quality of living by enabling them to live a better, richer and more convenient life” said LG Electronics East Africa Managing Director Sa Nyoung Kim said.
Compared to the typical air conditioners which have compressors that turn off and on to adjust the temperature, consuming a great deal of energy, the LG Dual cool Inverter RAC has a Compressor that constantly adjusts its speed to maintain desired temperature levels.
This minimal fluctuation saves upto 55 per cent of energy compared to other non-inverter air conditioners and ensures greater cooling comfort. This function is among the three functions of the LG Dual Cool Inverter RAC. The other two are durability and faster cooling.
In terms of Durability, the LG Dual Cool Inverter RAC lasts longer than other typical air conditioners in the market. The AC, unlike others in the market has a 10-year warranty on its compressor, a sign of confidence from its maker. The Warranty Certificate is issued on purchase.
In addition, its condenser has a gold Fin feature which ensures that the surface is more resistant to corrosion and enhances the durability of the heat exchanger for a much longer period.
On cooling, the LG Dual Cool Inverter RAC cools at 60 per cent faster than non-inverter air conditioners in the market. This, including the energy-saving rate, has been verified by TUV Rheinland, one of the world’s leading testing service providers of technical systems and products around the world.
When active, the LG Dual Cool Inverter RAC operates at low sound levels courtesy of the skew fan and DUAL Inverter Compressor™ which eliminates unnecessary noise and allow for smooth operation.
