After taking a heavy meal and winding it up with a glass water, it is always common for you to loosen your belt buckle a little. How about you not doing it at all and just letting the buckle adjust itself? Well, this is just what ‘Belty’’, a smart belt that has been developed by a French Startup Emiota will do for you.

The smart fitness belt was unveiled on Sunday in the ongoing 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

This smart belt will automatically adjust itself throughout the day, depending on how much you’ve eaten and how much exercise you’ve done to compensate. It will also keeps track of your overall health, and notify you when you’ve been sitting for too long.

It has been equipped with small sensors, an accelerator and gyroscope. It connects with an app that charts the data it collects throughout the day. It pushes out feedback and suggestions that correspond to how the belt adjusts in real time.

Also inside the Belty is a collection of motors that expand and retract based on waist size meaning you could buy once and keep for years.

According to the Mashable, It’s hard to tell at this point if the Belty is just a gimmick or could actually be useful in everyday life. The prototype is based of clunky metal, something that would likely feel heavy around the waist.

The price point is still in question too but according to a representative who spoke yo Mashable it is a “high-end product” with likely a luxury price tag.

It is not yet clear when it will hit the market.
