Samsung to Add Favorite Galaxy Note Features to Other Galaxy Devices

Samsung Galaxy Note series was first launched in 2011, and nearly a decade later there is a rumour that the company is planning to nix the series altogether.

Although the company is yet to confirm if the reports are true, TM Roh, Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business confirms the company will add fan-favourite Galaxy Note series features to other galaxy devices.

“We’ve also been paying attention to people’s favourite aspects of the Galaxy Note experience and are excited to add some of its most well-loved features to other devices in our lineup,” he wrote in a blog post.

Rumour has it that the South Korean tech company is planning to discontinue the entire Galaxy Note series come next year.

And because of that, some of the features available in the series will be ported to other Galaxy devices. For instance, the S Pen will be coming to the Galaxy S series for the first time – although you might have to purchase it separately. Additionally, Samsung will also include support for the S Pen in its foldable phones.

The company will additionally channel the freed-up resources from the Galaxy Note division to its foldable division. According to Roh, the company will be expanding its portfolio of foldable smartphones in the future to make such devices available for everyone.

Samsung has launched two foldable devices this year – the Galaxy Z Flip and a successor to its first-ever commercial folding phone, the Galaxy Fold.

Speaking of the Galaxy Z Fold 2, he said, “it’s just a hint of what’s to come as we[they] continue to explore, evolve and expand this category-changing space.”

Additionally, expect cutting-edge camera features in 2021. Tm Roh says customers should expect “super-intelligent, pro-grade camera and video capabilities.”

Expect more about Samsung’s smartphones future in January.

Multiple reports have suggested that the tech company will launch the upcoming Galaxy S series phones, reportedly named Galaxy S21, earlier than usual – in January.

The move is meant to help Samsung grab more market share from Huawei, whose smartphone business has been struggling since the US added the company to the so-called entity list in May 2019.
