Twitter Goes Under for Many Over Internal System Issue

Early this morning, Twitter announced that its service was down to many users owing to “some trouble” with internal systems. In a tweet sent at 2:16 AM, the company said it’s working to restore the social site.
The company also clarified they had not found any evidence of a security breach.
“We had some trouble with our internal systems and don’t have any evidence of a security breach or hack,” Twitter said.
Nearly three hours later, in a subsequent tweet, the micro-blogging platform clarified the major cause of the outage. “The outage was caused by a system change initiated earlier than planned, affecting most of our servers.”

Some frustrated users flocked to Downdetector, a website that tracks service outages on popular websites. As per the outage tracking website, over 57,000 users had issues with Twitter, with most of them facing trouble accessing the site via browser.
Back up
At nearly 5:00 AM, the company said most users should be able to use the site smoothly. However, the service is not fully back up.
“We’re working hard to bring Twitter back to normal and expect things to be fully resolved in 1-2 hours,” the company tweeted.
Previously Twitter had a massive attack with hackers taking over its internal systems and using them to advertise for a fake cryptocurrency reward program.
