...it does not dissapoint.
OPPO Reno4 Camera Review: The OPPO Reno4 is already selling in Kenyan market at Ksh. Ksh39,999. OPPO launched the device two weeks ago together with the OPPO Watch.
“Reno4 introduces fun and new ways to be in with the latest trends and fully express creativity through OPPO’s innovative imaging technology. This means that Reno4 will make it easy to capture creative portraits at any moment or imaginative videos that are designed to give every user a chance to “Clearly Unlock the Best You.” Muthoni Wachira, Head of Communications & Projects at OPPO Kenya said during the launch.
You can watch our unboxing video below:
OPPO Reno4 comes with a number of interesting features including a 6.40-inch touchscreen display, an octa-core processor, 8GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage, 4015mAh battery and a 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 charge support.
For the cameras, which is what we will be looking at in this review article, OPPO Reno4 packs five cameras – a 48-megapixel primary camera; a second 8-megapixel camera; a third 2-megapixel camera and a fourth 2-megapixel camera. The selfie camera is 32-megapixel.
Main Camera
The four cameras at the back of the OPPO Reno4 led by the 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 main sensor do a great job. Just as we have seen with all the devices in the Reno series, the camera does not disappoint. There’s also an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle lens and 2-megapixel mono chrome lens.
The images produced are excellent, pretty much what you would expect for a phone at that price range. They are decent with some good amount of detail and sharpness. The colours are also good, especially with good lighting.
Low Light shots are also good, thanks to the ultra-dark mode which is also available for selfies.
Other camera modes include portrait, slow-mo, HDR, Panorama, text scanner among others.

Selfie camera
The OPPO Reno4 selfie camera is 32-megapixels and features night mode, portrait, panorama and slo-mo modes.
The selfies produced are also good, quite sharp and detailed and the portrait mode produces better results. There’s also steady video on for selfie videos.
Check sample selfies below.
Important to mention is that OPPO Reno4 also takes slow-motion videos in 480fps@1080P, 240fps@720P, and 120fps@1080P using the rear cameras. The phone can also record videos for up to 4K resolution.
OPPO also decided to include a smart video editor called SoLoop on the OPPO Reno4. The app offers some exciting features, allowing you to edit and create.
OPPO included SoLoop, a smart video editor offering even more exciting updated features to easily create videos with a single tap.
OPPO describes SoLoop as a ‘compact video editing application made for smartphones that allows users to create instant slideshows of photos and videos.’ Using the app, users can edit photos and videos manually and put their creativity into it with some transitions, texts, filters, and some music.
The app is very simple to use and fit for creating short videos for social media consumption.
