Microsoft’s future of Windows, Windows 10X, will be first available to single-screen devices. In a blog post, Microsoft’s Chief Product Officer for Windows and Devices said this Windows iteration was designed with flexibility and thus “enabled us[them] to pivot our[their] focus toward single-screen Windows 10X devices that leverage the power of the cloud.”
Thus, Windows 10X, which was first showcased last year in October as an iteration for dual-screen PCs will be availed on single screen devices first.
The company has not averted its focus on dual-screen PCs, however.
“…we will continue to look for the right moment, in conjunction with our OEM partners, to bring dual-screen devices to market,” he wrote in the post.
Panay also shared some details on the upcoming Windows 10 May 2020 Update which will be starting this month. The update brings a streamlined way to pair Bluetooth devices in Windows, an improved tablet experience, plus a “drag and drop” functionality to Windows own Eye Control functionality and some more incremental updates.
