Huawei Y6S Unboxing And Quick Impressions
Huawei Y6S Unboxing: The Huawei Y6 is as we have previously mentioned is expected to go on sale across the country from March 4th 2020. The device has been available for pre-order from the 24th of February.
Huawei will be selling the phone at Ksh.14,000 and at that price you’re getting a Helio P35 chipset, 13MP rear camera, and 3,020mAh battery among other specs which you can read about here.
Huawei has given the Y6S a two-textured finish similar to what we saw on the Huawei Y9 Prime 2019. We have also seen this finish on the Google Pixel. The device comes in two colours – Orchid Blue and Starry Black. The review unit sent to us by Huawei Kenya is blue.
The back is made of plastic and is split into two with the upper part featuring a glossy finish while the lower part has a matte finish.
At the back is also where you have a newly designed camera module, different from what we saw on the Huawei Y6 (2019). There’s a large, round bezel that houses the camera lens and also a separate LED flash.
The fingerprint sensor is also at the back. Remember the predecessor did not come with a fingerprint sensor so this is quite impressive.
The Huawei Y6S comes with a 6.09-inch display with very thin side bezels. The chin is a bit wide with the Huawei logo sitting at the centre. At the top of the display, you have a waterdrop notch that houses the selfie camera.
The volume and power buttons are all on the right.
The opposite side houses the hybrid dual SIM tray and a microSD card slot.
At the bottom the micro USB port, and the speakers.
At the top, we have the 3.5mm headphone jack and the noise-cancelling mic for the loudspeaker.
