Huawei to Deploy Harmony OS in more of its products in 2020
Chinese tech giant Huawei plans to roll out more products powered by its in-house Operating System, Harmony. The plan was revealed by a Huawei spokesperson on Monday, who said that the company will then promote the products both in its home market and abroad.
But this will not be on its phones, tablets and computers and other popular products from the company. The company revealed its proprietary OS back in August which is based on the open-source version of Android.
To date, Huawei has only rolled out one product – a smart TV, running its proprietary OS Harmony also called HongMeng in Chinese.
For smartphones, Huawei’s president of the Huawei consumer business group’s software division, Wang Chenglu stated the company still prefers to use Android in its smartphone. Which is not the first time the company has affirmed on their stance about its smartphones Operating system.
Huawei had initially stated that the company will launch Harmony OS to other gadget categories like smartwatches, speakers and virtual reality gadgets and more.
