SWVL Now Offers Long Distance Rides, Starting With Nairobi-Nakuru Route
Egyptian ride-hailing company, SWVL, is looking into more ways to cement its operations in the country. Although the company has had a tough ride trying to set its foot in the matatu business in a digital way, the company issued an update towards the end of last month on the continuing practices to fully comply with the law.
Now the company has launched a new service called SWVL Travel. SWVL Travel is for long-distance travellers and this will compete directly with matatu operators who conduct their operations traditionally.
In its initial stage, SWVL Travel is only available on the Nairobi – Nakuru route. Customers will also be able to enjoy travel rides to Naivasha, as well.
According to the company, SWVL Travel starts operations today, Monday 9th December, and will see customers enjoy a 60 percent discount travelling from Nairobi to either Naivasha or Nakuru.

For those going home for festivities, this is a sweet deal and you may want to catch the first discounted rides.
Despite the regulatory issues, SWVL has also announced expansion plans in the past month by launching operations in three new routes.
