Samsung updates first generation watch models with Galaxy Watch Active 2 features
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 featured upgrades over its predecessors. As a result, it was worth it to go back into your pockets and get a Galaxy Watch Active 2. But as of now, you may want to hold up first because of Samsung’s recent updates to the earlier Galaxy Watch models.
As per the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active update, users of this earlier model will also have a chance to experience similar functionality just as the newer version.
Part of the update includes enhanced Samsung Health features, Bixby features, and customization options. The software update also unlocks the full Bixby experience like using Bixby Voice to start exercise routines, find out time differences between places, and even using Bixby to control the SmartThings ecosystem.
The UX has been revamped with icons for in-use apps moved to the bottom for convenience. Users can also customize icons in their quick panel, among other customization tweaks, thanks to Samsung’s My Style feature.
The Galaxy Watch Active update brings a new Touch Bezel interface that allows navigation using finger swipe actions around the bezel. Other features included in the update includes a new set of emojis, a clearer graphic UI, easier user interaction and diverse skin tones.
Furthermore, the first-generation Galaxy Watch has been added with new capabilities for Samsung Health, enabling users to keep track of their fitness goals through the Daily Active feature plus tracking of cycling and running lap times. The Galaxy Watch now supports a Low Heart Rate Alert as well.
