Samsung’s 2019 QLED 8K TVs are now available in Kenya

Samsung Electronics East Africa has officially introduced its 8K QLED TVs in the Kenyan market. This is a new industry benchmark in TV technology and is targeted at luxury homes.

The key highlight of the TV is its real 8K Resolution, 8K AI Upscaling, Quantum Processor 8K, and Quantum HDR. The TV is a more superior type of QLED that gives consumers unrivalled picture quality with a greater sense of realism and depth.

The Samsung QLED 8K TVs comes in four sizes on offer; 98-inch (247 cm), 82-inch (207 cm), 75-inch (189cm) and 65-inch (163 cm) that come with 33 million pixels.

“We are pleased to introduce QLED 8K TVs to consumers in Kenya. 8K is a much more superior type of QLED TV. True 8K resolution will plunge our customers into the detail of every scene with 4 times the resolution of 4K. At Samsung, we are committed to continuous innovation in order to deliver unparalleled at-home viewing experience,” said Samuel Odhiambo Manager, Consumer Electronics Division, Samsung Electronics.

Its cutting-edge AI technologies can instantly upscale any 4K or lower resolution content, therefore consumers need not worry that there is not enough 8K content available. QLED 8K offers a much more realistic, three-dimensional visual experience with a deeper perspective. It presents the objects in pictures and maximizes the distance between them to create a look of real depth.

“With Artificial Intelligence, discover details you didn’t know existed and relive moments in newfound clarity and depth,” added Mr. Odhiambo.

Samsung has priced the QLED 8K TVs at Ksh. 450,000 for the 65-inch, Ksh. 850,000 for the 75-inch and Ksh.1,100,000 for the 82-inch.

The 8K QLED TVs will be available for purchase in the country starting September 2019.
