WhatsApp Facebook-owned instant messaging platform has been run into problems with spammers, but now the going has turned out to be the worst. According to a report from the company, WhatsApp will take legal action against spammers on the platform.
It’s alleged that businesses have been creating WhatsApp clones and software to maneuver against filters set in the application that restrict the message forwarding limits. The message forwarding limitations were meant to curb the spread of fake news and spammers on the platform, but that hasn’t been able to work.
That’s why the Facebook-owned app has now turned to the law to help fight spammers and fake news. As stated in a blog, WhatsApp will take legal action against users who go against the mode of operation of the app, including bulk messaging and non-personal use. Most of the perpetrators on the platform have been businesses the company revealed.
“Beginning on December 7, 2019, WhatsApp will take legal action against those we determine are engaged in or assisting others in abuse that violates our Terms of Service, such as automated or bulk messaging, or non-personal use, even if that determination is based on information solely available to us off our platform,” WhatsApp stated.
