Instagram users to gain more data control with the new data saving feature

Instagram is one of those applications that consume a lot of data. High data usage is even one thing that scares some individuals from frequenting the app- including me.  However, Instagram is introducing a 4G data saver feature for its Android application to help curb the issue.

With the data saver, preloading of videos won’t be a problem anymore. More so, the new feature will also prevent high-resolution images from downloading unless one chooses to do so. Data saving feature will additionally bring more speed in the loading of images even under poor connectivity.

In response to IANS about the new feature Manish Chopra, Director, and Head of Partnerships, Facebook India stated: “With this data saver feature, we’re hoping for an uninterrupted Instagram experience in slow network areas, which in turn will increase people’s interactions with their friends and family.”

The company indicated feature would be rolled out in the course of this week in bits.

More stories on Instagram suggest that the app is soon rolling out a new design which will combine all the eight camera modes into one semi-circular wheel. The camera modes will then be categorized into three, including Live, Camera, and create.
