The Nokia 4.2 is now available in Kenya for Ksh.18,500


HMD Global has today announced the availability of the Nokia 4.2 in Kenya. The device was launched globally in February and comes with a 5.71-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720×1520 pixels at a pixel density of 269 pixels per inch (ppi) and an aspect ratio of 19:9.

The Nokia 4.2 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 processor and comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

As far as the cameras are concerned, the Nokia 4.2 packs dual camera setup on the rear which includes a 13-megapixel primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12-micron and a  2-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.75-micron. The selfie camera, on the other hand, is 8-megapixel with an f/2.0 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12-micron.

The Nokia 4.2 runs Android 9 and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth v4.20, NFC, Micro-USB, and FM radio. Sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

Commenting during the announcement, Mark Misumi, HMD Global’s Business Manager East Africa said, ‘’Our first ever Nokia 4.2 has a pleasingly premium look and feel, and is designed to offer the latest smartphone innovations at a truly accessible price. With this phone, our customers can do everything a flagship smartphone can do at a relatively affordable price.’’

It is available in two colours – Black and Pink Sand colours and will retail at Ksh18,500.
