Top firms to sponsor Young Entrepreneur Awards 2018
The inaugural Young Entrepreneur Awards 2018 has signed up three sponsorship deals for the awarding ceremony which will be held on November 28 this year. The awards will now be sponsored by the Youth Enterprise Development Fund (YEDF), WYLDE International Limited, Sage Events, and Oracle Consulting. Other sponsors include Jumia Kenya and the Valentine’s Cake House.
Youth Enterprise Development Fund is a state corporation that focuses on enterprise development to create employment opportunities for young people through entrepreneurship. The corporation also provides easy and affordable financial and business development services to the youth.
WYLDE International Limited is an innovative professional services firm with a broad portfolio of programs and services, ranging from strategy and advisory, entrepreneurship development, and resource solutions to training in staff and people development. Wyde International will offer business mentoring for the 12 winners and training on customer service for the top four winners. Oracle Edge Consulting Limited is Human Resource and Management consulting firm. It will grant the top two winners slashed discounts for a 12 Week Accelerator Program dubbed Sales Reload. Sage Events will be offering a training package on customer experience to the young entrepreneurs.
The awards are currently in the voting phase, which will be concluded on November 25 this year. The awarding ceremony will be held on November 28 this year in Nairobi.
“We are delighted to welcome our partners on board, especially because we have a mutually strong alignment in the development and promotion of youth entrepreneurship,” said Tonnie Mello, the Young Entrepreneurs Awards’ founder.
32 nominees are battling it out in eight different categories. Two of the 32 nominees will also be crowned as the male and female entrepreneur of the year.
The Young Entrepreneur Awards 2018 are an affiliate of Bizna Kenya, which is a Kenyan based business development portal. “We have targeted young entrepreneurs aged between 18 and 35 years. We strongly believe that the development of entrepreneurship among the young is a critical strategy in the increase of economic opportunities for youth in Kenya,” said Mr. Mello.
