Redefining Wine O’clock with LG’s smart wine cellar

Once upon a time, when you wanted to enjoy some red or white wine, you needed to store them differently. The white in the fridge and the red on top of a shelve somewhere else.

Being true to their customer-oriented heritage, LG Electronics has unveiled a voice-activated, smart wine cellar that can hold up to 65 bottles.

This wine cellar borrows a lot from the LG InstaView Door-In-Door refrigerator, including the knock-knock technology, which allows you to see what is inside the top compartment without opening the door.

The design of the cellar features a slim frame and minimalist sleek design that takes up little space (595x1182x580mm) in a home.

The question many may ask is; Why not just build a wine cellar or get a wine rack? Well, serious wine collectors and connoisseurs say each wine has a different storage temperature. Having an intuitive storage space that adjusts temperatures to each type of wine is a no-brainer.

With the latest in artificial intelligence, the wine cellar is capable of storing 65 wine bottles with shelves and 100 without the shelves, at different temperatures with different compartments for all types. These adjustable dual temperature zones help make it possible to store whites and reds in separate settings that bring out the best in each variety.

“The LG wine cellar is an efficient and convenient appliance that balances well capacity, utility and technology while being non-intrusive. This is a must have for consumers who enjoy entertaining guests while showcasing their personal collection in a modern way,” said Mr. Moses Marji, LG General Manager Marketing.

It is also noteworthy that the cellar is designed to be more user-friendly considering the two bottom compartments can be used as a refrigerator, which is conveniently motion-activated. Talk about James Bond manenos!

The only low down: The price of the LG wine cellar is still concealed, but I am sure it will be worth it.
