OPPO Find X now in Kenya, here’s everything you need to know

The OPPO Find X was one of those devices from OPPO that smartphone lovers like me were really looking forward to. The smartphone was first unveiled to the world in June this year and last week, we finally got a chance to see it in Kenya.

OPPO is calling it their futuristic phone and it was unveiled during a blogger/media meet-up held at the Nailab.

According to OPPO, the find series smartphone represents its continuous exploration of technology and artistry with profound ideas on the future development of the mobile phone.

”OPPO’s belief is that a smartphone is not just a communication device, but a piece of art and Find X is proof of this philosophy.” James Irungu OPPO Kenya PR and Communications Manager says.

The OPPO Find X comes with top-of-the-line specifications, but the highlight of the phone is the panoramic arc design, the large 6.42-inch display and stealth 3D cameras with a sliding structure that completely disguises the cameras within the body of the phone. The stealth 3D cameras not only includes the 25-megapixel front camera and 16MP+20MP dual rear cameras, but also a 3D Structured light module with many high-tech components.

The new OPPO Find X also features a bezel-less display with 93.8% screen-to-body ratio. It is actually the first Android smartphone to feature 3D Structured Light Technology for the 3D Face Recognition. OPPO says the 3D Face Recognition on the Find X is 20 times safer than fingerprint recognition for unlocking the phone.

The OPPO Find X  is powered by 2.5GHz octa-core processor and comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It runs Android 8.1 and is powered by a 3730mAh non-removable battery. It measures 156.70 x 74.30 x 9.40 (height x width x thickness) and weighs 186.00 grams.

The device is a dual SIM (GSM + CDMA and GSM + CDMA) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G, and 4G.

As for the price, the OPPO Find X will retail at Ksh. 99,990 and is available at all OPPO stores countrywide.
