Businesses in Kenya can now download the new WhatsApp Business App. They app had been rolled out in select markets in January, but is now officially available for download to everyone.
So what can businesses do with the new WhatsApp Business app? Well, small companies can set up their WhatsApp Business profiles by filling out information like emails, address and website as well as business description. The app also features smart messaging tools to allow quick replies that provide fast answers to frequently asked questions, greeting messages that introduce customers to your business, and away .
Businesses will also be able to access simple messaging statistics, like number of messages read, and they can send and receive messages from the desktop via WhatsApp Web.
Customers will know that they’re talking to a business because the accounts will be listed as a Business Account. Over time, WhatsApp says some businesses will have Confirmed Accounts once it’s been confirmed that the account phone number matches the business phone number.
WhatsApp says the new app will make it easier for companies to connect with customers, and more convenient for the 1.3 billion users to chat with businesses that matter to them.
