Kenyan Startup Lori Systems wins TechCrunch Startup Battlefield Africa 2017


The winners of the TechCrunch Startup Battlefield Africa 2017  have been announced. The winners were selected from 15 startups from across Africa after pitching their ideas at the event held in Nairobi.

The startups made their presentations in front of VCs and TechCrunch editors for chance to win $25,000 and an all paid expense trip for two to San Francisco for Disrupt SF 2018, TechCrunch’s flagship event.

Kenyan Startup Lori Systems was crowned as Sub-Saharan Africa’s Most Promising Startup and also won in the productivity and utility category. The Nairobi based startup has built a logistics platform that it says is revolutionizing the cargo-transport value chain in Africa.  AgroCenta, on the other hand, was chosen as the winner of the social good category, whilst SynCommerce won the top prize in gaming and entertainment.

TechCrunch Startup Battlefield Africa 2017, was sponsored by Facebook, searched for Sub-Saharan Africa’s best innovators, makers, and technical entrepreneurs.
