JUMO Names Warren Squires, Ex-Barclays Africa Seeker Fund CIO, as Director of MTN Channel
Warren Squires, a global Investment Banking executive with 20 years of experience working in various finance company leadership roles, has joined JUMO as its new Director of MTN Channel, effective 9 January 2017.
The ex-Barclays Africa Managing Principal will lead JUMO’s strategic partnership with MTN in Africa which is based in Cape Town.

Warren said he is excited to join the company that is, “effecting a step-change in digital financial services delivery.”

Warren is a Rhodes and Cape Town university alumni. Previous banking positions include Credit Suisse, and Barclays Capital in London and Hong Kong; Renaissance Capital and Barclays in South Africa as Chief Operating Officer for Africa and most recently as Chief Investment Officer for Barclays Africa Seeker fund – a fund setup to invest in early stage companies.
JUMO gained more than 100 new staff members in 2016 and has plans to double its staff complement (currently 225 across 6 locations) in 2017. The company boasts a strong line-up of talent including ex-Magento CTO Ted Pietrzak who joined the company in January 2016 as VP Engineering marking the first American platform level CTO to be recruited by an African company.
