24Bit Podcast: Dissecting Safaricom’s new fair usage policy for its Home Fibre service

Safaricom’s new Fair Usage Policy (FUP) for its Home Fibre service has gone into effect. According to the FUP, Safaricom Home Fibre packages will now offer specific monthly usage caps on each package.

When these usage caps are exceeded, your speeds will reduce for the rest of the month, or unless you renew your package through the “Change Plan” option.

This policy may seem unreasonable, but the reasons behind these measures are well…..practical, at least according to Safaricom. The aim is to ensure that users have the best experience using the internet.

In this latest episode of our 24Bit podcast, myself Nixon Kanali, Emmanuel Chenze and Dickson Otienodissect FUP and what it means for Safaricom Home Fibre users.
