Oppo Find N6 Leans on a New 3D Liquid Printed Display to Deal With the Foldable Crease Problem

Oppo Find N6 launched with a 6,000mAh battery and a different answer to the foldable crease

Oppo has officially launched the Find N6 foldable phone, introducing a display manufacturing technique designed to remove the tactile and visual crease common in folding devices. By using 3D liquid printing to fill internal hinge gaps, the company has created a surface that remains flat when unfolded. The device is currently available in China, Australia, and New Zealand, featuring a 6,000mAh battery and a specialized triple-camera array. Hopefully, we’ll get a few units in the country as well.

Invisible creases and liquid printing hardware

The primary hardware advancement in the Find N6 is the implementation of 3D liquid printing within the hinge structure. This process provides a consistent support layer for the 8.12-inch internal screen, preventing the display material from sagging or dipping at the fold point. While most competitors rely on complex mechanical hinges to minimize the gap, Oppo’s approach focuses on the internal topography of the screen itself.

Measurements show the device sits at 8.93mm when closed, which is comparable to many non-folding flagship smartphones. It weighs 225g and carries an IP56, IP58, and IP59 rating for water resistance, though it lacks the highest level of certified dust protection found in some rival devices.

Performance and silicon-carbon battery density

Under the hood, the Oppo Find N6 runs on a 7-core variant of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It ships with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage as standard. A major highlight is the 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which offers higher energy density than traditional lithium-ion packs of the same size.

The device supports 80W wired charging via SuperVooc and 50W wireless charging. For productivity, Oppo introduced the AI Pen, a stylus that functions on both the internal and external displays, paired with a software suite that allows for 4 simultaneous floating windows.

Pricing and regional availability

The Find N6 is priced at $3,299 AUD in Australia, which converts to approximately $2,300 USD. Despite the high specifications, Oppo has not announced plans for a release in North America or Europe. The camera system consists of a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP 3x telephoto lens. While these represent the highest resolution sensors currently available in a foldable, they remain physically smaller than the sensors found in Oppo’s dedicated photography flagships.
