TECNO Brings AI-Powered CAMON 50 Series and Lamborghini Partnership to Kenya from MWC 2026
TECNO has used the Mobile World Congress 2026 (MWC) stage in Barcelona to unveil its latest smartphone lineup and a high-profile design partnership, with all three new devices now available to Kenyan consumers.
The CAMON 50 Series, comprising the CAMON 50, CAMON 50 Pro, and CAMON 50 Ultra 5G, arrives positioned as a mid-range lineup with flagship ambitions, centered on AI-enhanced photography, durable hardware, and software tools tailored for everyday use.
At the Barcelona launch, TECNO CMO Laury Bai was joined on stage by Global Product Launch Officer Olivier Mas, DXOMARK CEO Frédéric Guichard, and Ginevra Lamborghini, Vice President of Tonino Lamborghini S.p.A., a lineup that underscored the breadth of the company’s announcements.
“Consumers now want their AI to reflect their individuality, be readily available and deliver true value in practical daily life scenarios,” said Bai. “This is part of the reason why TECNO has been committed to building Practical AI for All.”
All three models are built around a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C Ultra Night Camera as the primary sensor. The Pro and Ultra 5G variants add a 50MP 3X telephoto lens with AI 60X SuperZoom, a capability TECNO says is suited to use cases ranging from wildlife photography in the Maasai Mara to capturing Nairobi’s skyline.
The series runs on TECNO’s AI RAW 2.0 imaging engine, which introduces an AI Auto Zoom feature that tracks subjects and adjusts framing automatically, alongside Super-Zoom FlashSnap for high-speed, long-distance shots.
DXOMARK, the independent imaging evaluation body, validated the Ultra 5G’s performance, with particular recognition for its Universal Tone technology, which the company says is designed to accurately render the diverse skin tones of African consumers.
“Combined, these strengths will make the CAMON 50 Ultra 5G stand out as a compelling choice for accurate and inclusive skin tone rendering under $600,” said Guichard.
Beyond the camera, the series includes AI creative tools — an AI Art Gallery, an Image-to-Video Generator, and a One-Tap FlashMemo feature — as well as an upgraded Ella voice assistant accessible via a dedicated button. The Ultra 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chip, carries a 6,500mAh battery, and holds MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification for dust and water resistance.
Alongside the smartphone launch, TECNO announced a formal partnership with Italian lifestyle brand Tonino Lamborghini, its most prominent design collaboration to date.
The first product from the partnership is the Tonino Lamborghini TECNO TAURUS, billed as the world’s smallest water-cooling gaming mini PC. The all-metal device runs an Intel Core i9-13900HK processor paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 graphics card. A second co-created product, the POVA Metal Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition, a Snapdragon-powered 5G phone with an all-metal body and Rear Dot Matrix lighting, was also unveiled.
TECNO additionally showcased a broader AIoT concept ecosystem under the Lamborghini design language, spanning laptops, tablets, and wearables.
“When heritage and innovation meet with intention, we do not simply launch a product range but shape a new expression of lifestyle and experiences,” said Ginevra Lamborghini.
The CAMON 50 Series is available now across Kenya.
