Wingu Africa Appoints Prasad Acharya as Tanzania Sales Director to Drive Regional Expansion

The hire signals the carrier-neutral data centre operator's deepening commitment to one of East Africa's fastest-growing digital infrastructure markets

Wingu Africa, East Africa’s leading carrier-neutral data centre operator, has named Prasad Acharya as Director of Sales for Tanzania. He will lead the company’s sales operations in the country and spearhead its commercial expansion across the region.

Acharya brings more than two decades of experience in telecommunications and enterprise connectivity, with a track record of building and leading high-performing sales teams. Prior to joining Wingu Africa, he held senior commercial roles at leading ISPs and technology companies in Tanzania, where he led enterprise sales and managed strategic client relationships.

In his new position, he will focus on growing Wingu Africa’s footprint across enterprise, carrier, and strategic accounts, while driving uptake of the company’s data centre and digital infrastructure services.

“Tanzania is a key strategic market for Wingu Africa, and we are delighted to welcome Prasad to the team,” said Ralph Vraagom, VP of Sales at Wingu Africa. “His extensive experience and deep understanding of the Tanzanian market will be invaluable as we continue to expand our presence and support customers with reliable digital infrastructure.”

Acharya said he was joining at an opportune moment. “Demand for digital infrastructure is growing rapidly across the region, and I look forward to working with the team to strengthen client relationships and support organisations in Tanzania with resilient, world-class data centre services,” he said.
