Genetec Launches Cloud-Managed Security Appliance Built for Enterprise Scale
The Cloudlink 2210 promises large organisations a path to cloud-managed physical security without scrapping existing infrastructure

Genetec has unveiled the Cloudlink 2210, a new cloud-managed appliance aimed at large enterprises looking to modernise their physical security operations without the cost and disruption of a full infrastructure overhaul.
The announcement signals a growing recognition in the industry that many large organisations remain caught between the appeal of cloud-managed security and the practical realities of complex, legacy-heavy environments. Genetec is positioning the Cloudlink 2210 as a bridge between those two worlds, one that allows enterprises to adopt cloud management on their own timeline and terms.
The 2U rack-mount appliance consolidates video management, access control, and intrusion detection into a single unit, supporting hundreds of connected devices and up to 240 TB of local storage per appliance. That combination is designed to reduce dependence on cloud storage, keeping long-term operational costs in check while ensuring that security workloads continue running locally even when internet connectivity is lost or disrupted, a critical consideration for mission-critical environments where any gap in coverage carries serious consequences.
Built on an open architecture, the Cloudlink 2210 is compatible with a wide range of third-party cameras, access control systems, and intrusion panels. Rather than forcing organisations to rip out and replace existing hardware, the appliance is designed to integrate with what is already in place, lowering migration risk and preserving prior infrastructure investments. This stands in contrast to proprietary solutions that typically require organisations to commit to a single vendor’s ecosystem across all workloads.
On the resiliency front, the appliance incorporates RAID-protected storage and redundant system components to guard against data loss and ensure operating system availability. Dual network interfaces provide an additional layer of redundancy and support network isolation, strengthening the overall cybersecurity posture of deployments.
Scalability is also central to the product’s design. Rather than requiring a wholesale infrastructure redesign as security needs grow, organisations can simply add Cloudlink 2210 units to increase device counts and storage capacity. Centralised cloud management maintains visibility and control across the entire deployment regardless of how many units are in operation.
“Enterprises don’t want to choose between innovation and operational certainty,” said Christian Chenard Lemire, Product Director of Unified Solutions at Genetec. “With Cloudlink 2210, we’re redefining what cloud-managed physical security looks like at scale by giving organizations the freedom to modernize on their own terms, control long-term costs, and maintain the resiliency and continuity their most critical environments demand.”
For channel partners and system integrators, the appliance also opens the door to larger, higher-density projects. Integrators can simplify installation processes, accelerate deployment timelines, and scale predictably by adding units as client requirements evolve, all within a consistent cloud-managed framework that connects seamlessly to Genetec’s Security Center SaaS platform.
The Cloudlink 2210 is part of Genetec’s broader appliance portfolio, which supports on-premises, cloud, and hybrid deployment models. The company says the goal is to give organisations the flexibility to operate in whichever environment best suits their regulatory requirements and operational priorities, without sacrificing performance or control.
