Huawei Kenya has officially unveiled its latest line-up, introducing the Huawei GT6 Series (including the GT6 Pro) and the new MatePad TXZ range to the Kenyan market.
This launch marks a significant stride in delivering smarter living solutions that seamlessly integrate health innovation, premium design, and cross-device compatibility for today’s consumers.
Huawei is reaffirming its position as a global leader in the wearable space, a category in which it has shipped over 180 million units globally as of 2024 and ranked #1 in wrist wearable shipments worldwide between Q1–Q3 2024. This momentum is now focused on Kenya, responding to the growing demand for devices that support fitness, emotional wellbeing, and refined design.
The new GT6 Series and GT6 Pro directly cater to wellness-driven lifestyles, offering Emotional Wellbeing 2.0 features, advanced sports tracking, and ultra-long battery life. Crafted from premium materials like sapphire glass and titanium alloy, the watches underscore Huawei’s commitment to both durability and luxury aesthetics. The wearables boast advanced cycling analytics, improved heart-rate algorithms, sleep tracking enhancements, and seamless compatibility across multiple operating systems, including Android, iOS, HarmonyOS, and the wider Huawei ecosystem.
Accompanying the wearables is the MatePad TXZ series, designed to deliver PC-level productivity and creativity. These tablets feature an innovative PaperMatte display, which minimizes glare and mimics the feel of real paper, making on-the-go work and ideation comfortable for students, creators, and professionals. Lightweight and versatile, the TXZ range aims to make efficient, boundary-free productivity accessible to everyone.
“Kenya is a rapidly growing hub for digital wellness, and we’re proud to bring global innovations like the WATCH FIT 4 and Band 10 to this market,” said Jin Renbin, Device Manager, Huawei Kenya.
Wilfred Otieno, Marketing Manager, Devices at Huawei Technologies Kenya representatives, reaffirmed the brand’s commitment to the local market, emphasizing the crucial role of ecosystem integration. “Technology needs to add value to everyday living. With this new lineup, we are bringing together health innovation, premium design, creativity tools and seamless connectivity that empower every user to live smarter and better.” Otieno added, “We’re delivering flagship-level capabilities at prices that work for Kenyan professionals, athletes, students, and everyone in between.”
The launch places Kenya among the first wave of African markets to receive the GT6 Series, underscoring Huawei’s dedication to delivering its latest innovations in step with global releases. The GT6 Series, GT6 Pro, and MatePad TXZ tablets are now available in Huawei stores and authorized retail partners nationwide, with promotional bundles and in-store demos being offered.
