Sophos, a global cybersecurity firm, has announced the launch of Sophos Advisory Services, a new suite of security testing solutions aimed at helping organizations identify and address vulnerabilities in their systems.
The services include External Penetration Testing, Internal Penetration Testing, Wireless Network Penetration Testing, and Web Application Security Assessments. According to Sophos, these offerings are designed to help businesses of all sizes detect weaknesses before they can be exploited by cybercriminals, while also supporting regulatory compliance and building stakeholder trust.
The launch comes as cyberattacks continue to rise globally. The company’s State of Ransomware 2025 report revealed that exploited vulnerabilities are the leading cause of ransomware incidents, with 65% of organizations attributing breaches to known or unknown security gaps.
“Adversaries are increasingly skilled at exploiting the smallest cracks in an organization’s security program,” said Jake Dorval, Senior Director of Sophos Advisory Services. “With Sophos Advisory Services, we help organizations proactively identify and fix weaknesses before attackers can exploit them.”
The services are informed by real-time threat intelligence from Sophos X-Ops and draw on expertise from professionals with backgrounds in security research, threat intelligence, law enforcement, and the military. The team joined Sophos following its recent acquisition of Secureworks and holds hundreds of industry certifications.
Sophos Advisory Services complement the company’s existing portfolio, which includes Sophos Emergency Incident Response. That service, which combines Sophos and Secureworks’ incident response expertise, offers organizations on-demand support for identifying and neutralizing active threats.
Sophos said it plans to expand its Advisory Services portfolio in the coming months.
