Stanbic Bank’s Core Banking Systems To Be Unavailable This Weekend

Stanbic Bank has announced that it will be carrying out an upgrade of its Core Banking System from the 18th to the 21st of October 2024.

The bank says the system upgrade is expected to impact a variety of its services, including the use of Stanbic ATMs as well as ATMs of other banks.

Additionally, the upgrade will affect Stanbic and other banks’ Point of Sale (POS) devices, potentially disrupting card payments at retail locations. Furthermore, customers using Stanbic Debit or Credit cards for online shopping may experience temporary interruptions in service during this period.

In a statement, Stanbic Bank reassured its customers that the upgrade is part of its ongoing commitment to improving the overall banking experience.

“We are building a better banking experience for you. We will therefore be upgrading our Core Banking System from the 18th to the 21st of October 2024,” the bank said in its statement.

Stanbic Bank says its branches will however operate as usual but will remain closed on Saturday, 19th October 2024. Normal branch operations will resume on the 22nd of October 2024.

‘’We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that might be caused during this transition and thank you for your continued business support.’’ the statement reads.

The bank advised its customers to plan ahead and be aware of possible disruptions, emphasizing that once completed, the upgraded system would enhance the reliability, efficiency, and security of their banking services.

Customers are encouraged to carry out any necessary banking transactions ahead of the scheduled maintenance to avoid inconveniences during the upgrade window.
