Vivo V40 Officially Launched in Kenya


Vivo V40 is finally available in the country. This is the latest mid-range smartphone from Vivo and succeeds the Vivo V30 5G and the V30 Lite launched early this year.

Vivo V40 comes with a major design change in the cameras. The V40 shifts from a rectangular aura light to a circular-shaped one. The Aura light brightens faces during lowlight portrait shots.

Vivo V40 has a dual rear setup comprising a 50MP main with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP selfie camera.  All cameras record 4K 30fps video. Vivo brought Zeiss optics to the V40 series to up its portrait photography.

Vivo V40’s cameras, developed with ZEISS, showcase the company’s dedication to delivering top-notch smartphone portrait photography, providing users with cinematic quality for personal expression in mobile imaging, and offering ZEISS Cinematic Portrait Video for enhanced videography.

Coming to the front is the 6.78-inch OLED curved screen(1260 by 2800) sporting 1.5K resolution and now with 4500 nits peak brightness – this is a huge upgrade as the V30 had 2800 nits peak brightness. It also has 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support.

At its helm, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 will run the Vivo V40 with 8GB onboard RAM and 8GB virtual RAM plus 256GB storage. It ships with Android 14 and FunTouchOS 14 straight out of the box and will get 2 major Android OS upgrades and 3 years of security updates.

Another big change is the battery capacity as the V40 now has a gigantic 5500mAh battery compared to the 5000mAh battery of the V30. It will charge with an 80W charger.

The V40 also has stereo speakers and an under-display optical fingerprint reader. It sports IP68 ingress protection, Schott Xensation Alpha glass protection,

Vivo V40 comes in Sunglow Peach, Stellar Silver (Titanium Grey), Moonlight White, Nebula Purple (Lotus Purple), and Ganges Blue.

The Vivo V40 is available at a recommended retail price of Ksh. 64,999.
