Vivo V40 Series Set to Launch in Kenya This Month

Vivo is closing the year off with the launch of the V40 series, which will be launched later this month. The V40 joins the V30, which the company already sells in the country in the camera-centric midrange series.

Vivo V40 brings minor design improvements and major camera and battery upgrades. It has the same thin profile as its predecessor featuring glass back and front with Schott Xensation Alpha display protection. Its ingress rating goes up from IP54 to IP68 rating.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen sports 1260 by 2800 pixel resolution, HDR10+, 120Hz refresh rate, and 4500 nits brightness. It’s worth noting that the V30 has 2800 nits peak brightness so this improvement is welcome. The V40 also has stereo speakers and an under-display optical fingerprint reader.

The same chipset powers the V40 – Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 paired with 8GB onboard RAM and 8GB virtual RAM plus 256GB storage. It also runs Android 14 and FunTouchOS 14 and will get 2 major Android OS upgrades and 3 years of security updates.

Vivo brings Zeiss optics to the midrange V40 series, which many photographers will love. It has a 50MP main camera with OIS and a 50MP ultrawide. It also has a 50MP selfie camera. All three cameras shoot 4K 30fps video. It also has an Aura Light feature that brightens faces during lowlight portrait shots.

Battery capacity gets increased as mentioned above to 5500mAh from 5000mAh. It will charge using an 80W charger.

Vivo V40 will come in various colors – Sunglow Peach, Stellar Silver (Titanium Grey), Moonlight White, Nebula Purple (Lotus Purple), and Ganges Blue.

Launch and Pre-order Details

Vivo is set to launch the V40 on 30th September and open preorders later.
