Safaricom’s mobile money platform M-Pesa is down with users nationwide reporting delays.
The service is unavailable on both the M-Pesa app, USSD code and the SIM card tool.
Users have taken to social media platforms to complain about the outage that has seen several services relying on M-Pesa brought to a half.
Safaricom has not issued an official statement yet but a message from the telco notes that the service is undergoing scheduled maintenance.
”M-PESA is undergoing scheduled maintenance,” read a message from Safaricom.
M-Pesa is Safaricom’s largest revenue earner. According to the telco’s results for the last financial year, the company processed 6.4 billion payments through M-PESA.
