Story Highlights
  • The Oppo Reno 8T which comprises the 5G and 4G variant has been launched in other markets including India
  • Both smartphones will be equipped with triple rear cameras with the 5G variant featuring a 108-megapixel primary camera.

Oppo is expected to launch the Reno 8T series in Kenya this month. The mid-ranger comes around four months after the company unveiled the Oppo Reno 8 in the country.

We are also not sure if this launch means Oppo is skipping the Reno9 as the company does not provide details about this. Oppo however says, the series will bring a level up in ultra-clear imaging system, stylish design, powerful performance, and an all-around smooth experience to its users.

The series will include both the 5G and 4G variants to give a more flexible choice for users.

The 5G model, which I believe Oppo will be really pushing is powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset, while the 4G variant has a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC under the hood.

We can also confirm that the 5G variant will sport a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,412 pixels) curved OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, 93 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 360Hz touch sampling rate. The 4G variant, on the other hand, will feature a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with up to 90Hz refresh rate.

Both smartphones will be equipped with triple rear cameras with the 5G variant featuring a 108-megapixel primary rear camera and a 100-megapixel sensor for the 4G variant. Both devices will feature a 32-megapixel selfie shooter and also pack 8GB of RAM and offer up to 256GB of onboard storage.

For the battery, the Oppo Reno 8T 5G will feature a 4,800mAh battery with the 8T 4G having a 5,000mAh battery.

The new line of the Reno 8 T series is scheduled to be unveiled in Nairobi on Thursday, February 16th, 2023 with details about the pricing yet to be confirmed.

Oppo Kenya will also be working with Willy Paul, Nadia Mukami, and Nameless as the brand ambassadors for this series.

We will also be sharing details about the pricing and availability in our subsequent articles.
