Donald Trump’s Truth Social app is now available on Google Play Store
Donald Trump’s social media app Truth Social is now available for download on Play Store.
Google removed the app from Play Store in August, claiming that it didn’t have sufficient moderation policies in place. The app has now been allowed back after agreeing to enforce moderation measures that are compliant with the user-generated content as Google’s policies stipulate.
But Truth Social app has just overcome one hurdle and there seemingly are a few more to go. The app reportedly hit financial challenges and its parent company, the Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) is under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) over allegations of securities violations.
TMTG has been facing financial issues related to its repeatedly delayed merger with SPAC Digital World Acquisition Corp, the shell company set to merge with TMTG and take it public. The process hit another setback on Monday and has now scheduled its shareholder vote to take place on November 3rd.
Truth Social, which is fashioned like Twitter poises as a platform that “encourages an open, free, and honest global conversation.”
While this outspoken nature has endeared the app to lots of anticipating fans, there are several more observers who are keeping an eye on how exactly moderation will be done on the platform.
