Nigeria’s bicycle delivery startup Errand360 partners with Jumia for deliveries

Across Africa, a multitude of ideas are mushrooming every day, aiming to address the continent’s most pressing needs. Under the circumstances, duplication of ideas is, to a large extent, inevitable. With this in mind, each vision bearer must find ways of distinguishing his product from what’s already available in the market.

For Nigeria’s delivery firm Errand360, doing deliveries on bicycles is their unique proposition. Founder and CEO Adetola Adele expounds on why bicycles are the company’s chosen means saying, “ We discovered that using bicycles as our means of delivery will reduce overheads, reduce carbon footprint, and enable us to drastically reduce delivery costs by almost 40% in the first 12 months of operation, as we do not have to spend heavily on maintenance and needed zero budget on fuel. So, Errand360 came into being!”

The company claims that after officially launching in May 2019, it fulfilled 2000 deliveries within 75 days, covering 11,000km.

Errand360 has made more milestones in due course, including raising pre-seed funding in November last year.

The company has now entered a strategic partnership with Africa’s leading eCommerce platform Jumia, to offer last-mile deliveries to customers.

Errand360 co-founder Jaiyeola Ayodeji David said, “This Jumia deal is a nationwide deal and for at least three years across multiple locations with at least 100 riders to start with. It’s a mega deal and a gamechanger for the company and will see the company deliver thousands of orders monthly.”

The Jumia deal expands the list of partners that Errand360 has onboarded, which now includes Glovo, Gokada and Bolt.
