Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro officially launched, specs, price and availability in Kenya
Smartphone maker Xiaomi has officially unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 12 series. The series comprises of the Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12 that Xiaomi says have been designed to empower users around the world with a cutting-edge videography studio and entertainment powerhouse,
The company says the new series delivers impressive advancements in Xiaomi’s AI algorithm, flagship processing power, and an all-around elevated experience.
Available on all two devices, One-click AI Cinema offers numerous creative options for show-stopping video editing, such as Parallel World, Freeze Frame Video, and Magic Zoom modes.
Xiaomi is also making the devices available in Kenya. Xiaomi 12 Pro will come with a flagship variant of 12GB+256GB, which will be available starting from Ksh. 104,999/-. The Xiaomi 12 on the other hand will come with a flagship variant of 12GB+256GB, which will be available starting from Ksh. 84,999/-.
Xiaomi 12 Pro
Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a 6.73-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 1,440×3,200 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The display sports Gorilla Glass and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro runs Android 12 and is powered by a 4,600mAh battery. It features an incredibly fast 120W Xiaomi HyperCharge. Xiaomi claims the battery can be fully charged in just 18 minutes.
For the cameras, the Xiaomi 12 Pro on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel (f/1.9) primary camera; a 50-megapixel (f/1.9) camera, and a 50-megapixel (f/2.2) camera. There is a single front camera setup for selfies, featuring a 32-megapixel sensor.

Xiaomi 12 runs sports a 6.28-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top and 20:9 aspect ratio. We are also getting a 120Hz refresh rate, and Dolby Vision support.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.
For the cameras, Xiaomi 12 features a triple rear camera setup that features a 50-megapixel primary SONY IMX766 sensor with an f/1.88 aperture, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with an f/2.4 aperture, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. The front houses a 32-megapixel selfie sensor.
Xiaomi 12 packs a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support and 50W wireless charging support. The phone also has 10W reverse wireless charging support.
Both O Pro come with UFS 3.1 for quick loading and data transfer speeds, along with LPDDR5 RAM for memory speeds up to 6,400Mbps.
