Realme 9i with Snapdragon 680 launching in Kenya later this month
Realme is gearing up to launch its first smartphone in Kenya this year, the realme 9i later this month. The company is yet to officially confirm the exact dates for the launch.
The realme 9i is the newest model in the number series after the realme 8 series.
It comes with a 6.60-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels at a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch (ppi) with a 90Hz refresh rate. Realme 9i is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and will come in either 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128GB variants.
The phone runs Android 11 and is powered by a huge 5000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.
For the cameras, the Realme 9i on the rear packs a triple camera setup featuring a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture; a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.44 aperture, and a 2-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 aperture. There is a single front camera setup for taking your favorite selfies, featuring a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.1 aperture.
The Realme 9i runs Realme UI 2.0 is based on Android 11 and will be available in Kenya in two colour options – Prism Black and Prism Blue.
Realme has not yet said anything about the pricing but the phone is rumoured to retail at between Ksh. 21,000 and Ksh 25,000.
Realme might also be launching the realme 9, realme 9 4G and the realme 9Pro in Kenya within the next quarter.
